Overview

‘Contemporary Projects: Rachel Rose’ presents two recent works by the New York-based artist, that will be presented to the public in two different moments. In September will be exhibited A Minute Ago, 2014 (HD video, 8’43”). A Minute Ago collages footage of an abrupt apocalyptic storm in Siberia with the artist’s own footage of Philip Johnson’s iconic Glass House. Relating two apparently unconnected events, Rose’s work unfolds with a multi-layered interconnection of time, space, and ecology. The second work will be exhibited in October. Everything and More, 2015 (video HD, 10’31”) originates in the experience of an astronaut’s body in outer space, blending footage of research in a four-story-deep pool with robots simulating the daily tasks of astronauts in space, and Rose’s abstract representations of models of physical complexity and the infinite.
